American dream definition given to us in class still applies to today. Maybe not to a full extend but a lot of it still does. The definition states that every man and women should have the chance to be and do what they want to be. Back then people came to the US for a new life and to be free of poverty. There was opportunity here. Today some may come for the same reason but a small percentage. However, there still is opportunity in this country for others around the world. Also people today still want to do what they want and be who they want to be.
